Kangra, Himachal Pradesh
Known as the abode of Gods, Kangra is definitely a place that is blessed with the presence of countless temples. An interesting story lies behind the name itself. It is a composite word made from the words kaan (ears) and gaddha (create), which were given to it because of the presence of the oldest plastic surgeons who provided plastic surgeries to the royal families and the soldiers.
Though Kangra is a small place, it still has a rich history. In fact, the Katoch dynasty of Kangra is known to be the oldest serving royal dynasty in the world.
Besides the temples, there are tons of other places that one must visit when in Kangra. The Kangra Fort and the Pong Dam wetlands are spots that one must see.
