Jawai is famous for its leopards. It is believed that around 50-60 leopards live here. The best thing about this area is that there is no sign of poaching and there is complete coexistence between the humans and the leopards.
Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur helped in the foundation of the Jawai Bandh that is much more than a dam structure. It has become home to all the people and animals living around. It is the biggest dam in Western Rajasthan and is providing water to Jodhpur and parts of Pali district.
